PHIL ROTHSCHILD

O NE

CAN GET a few laughs
out of reading dedications in
books. A majority of them seem
trite such as as "To my old
geology professor," or "To my
best friend."
We heard of a novelist who
dedicated each of his three books
to his wife—only each time he
had a book published he found
himself with a different mate.
And sometimes one will find
the dedication better reading than
the book itself . . . right?
