munal leader, was elected presi-
dent of Temple Beth El at the
101st annual meeting on June 4.
Wilkus, a confirmand of the
Temple, has had a life-long af-

filiation with the congregation,
and has served for many years
as a member of the board of
trustees, as chairman of the prop-
erties committee, and as treasurer
of the temple.
For the past two years, he was
vice-president of the temple.
Other officers elected were
Sidney J. Allen, vice-president;
and Lawrence J. Michelson, treas-
urer.
The following were elected as
trustees for a three year term:
Harry S. Grant, Leonard T. Lewis,
Meyer L. Prentis, Benjamin Wilk.
In his annual report, Nate S.
Shapero, retiring -president, re-
viewed the numerous and diversi-
fied activities and events of the
Temple program during the past
year, and stated that Beth El now
has a membership of over 1,600
families, the largest in its history.
Shapero was presented with a
citation for distinguished service
to the congregation.
