Women to Launch G-Day
With Golda Myerson Talk

Temple Beth El will pay
tribute to its rabbi, Dr. B. Bene-
dict Glazer, on the occasion of
his 25th anniversary in the rab-

Temple Beth El, at a special
anniversary service at 8:15 p.m.
Friday, April 27.
Participants in the service
will be: Dr. Maurice N. Eisen-
drath, president of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega-
tions: Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson,
rabbi emeritus of Temple
Emanu-El in New York City
and a past president of the Cen-
tral Conference of American
Rabbis; Rabbi Leon I. Feuer of
the Collingwood Avenue Temple
in Toledo.
Also, Rabbi Sidney Akselrad,
assistant rabbi of the temple;
Dr. Herbert B. Hudnut, min-
ister of the Woodward avenue
Presbyterian Church and past
president of the Detroit Council
of Churches; Ray R. Eppert, in-
dustrialist and prominent civic
leader; and Nate S. Shapero,
president of Temple Beth El.
The liturgical music of the
evening, composed especially for
the occasion by Jason H. Tick-
ton, music director of the tem-
ple, will be rendered by a dou-
ble quartet.
A reception for Dr. and Mrs.
Glazer will be held in the
Franklin Memorial Hall follow-
ing the service.

Youth Service Set
at Temple Israel
Temple Israel Youth has plan-
ned a symposium which will be

Youth Sabbath eve service to be
held in the main auditorium of
the new Temple Israel at 8:30
p.m., Friday, May 11.
The participants in this serv-
ice will include non-members as
well as members. The members
of the panel chosen for this sym-
posium are Alvin Talberg, Martin
Citrin, Frona Johnson, and Carol
Charles.
Special prayers will be deliv-
ered and special music rendered
in celebration of Israel • Inde-
pendence Day. This is the first
youth service in the new temple.
