The Brandeis Camp Institutes
which have been in existence for
10 years have marked an ex-
periment in which young Jewish
men and women between the
ages of 18-25, coming from
varying backgrounds, are instilled
with a love for their tradition
and a desire to participate in
Jewish work.
At present there are three such
institutes at Winterdale, Penn.,
Hendersonville, N. C. and Santa
Susana, Cal.
Through an intensive summer
program, young people are being

trained for leadership in the
American Jewish community.
Candidates for scholarships for
four-week periods must be high
school graduates and between the
ages of 18-25. The chief quality
sought is personality and leader-
ship capacity.
All candidates who are selected
receive tuition scholarships.
A committee is now being set
up under the chairmanship of
Rabbi Morris Adler to select
from among the applicants those
who will be awarded such
scholarships.
The curriculum at the Camp
inclucNs study of Jewish history,
Zionism, the state of Israel,
problems of group work, as well
as instruction in group singing,
folk-dance, arts and crafts, and
drama.
Young people who wish to ap-
ply, may direct their inquires
either to Mrs. Anna Landau or
Rabbi Adler. Dr. Shlomo Bardin
is the national director.
