Temple Beth El will pay tri-
bute to its rabbi, Dr. B. Benedict
Glazer, on the occasion of his
25th anniversary in the rabbinate
and 10th anniversary at Temple
Beth El, at a special anniversary
service at 8:15 p.m., Friday, Ap-
ril 27.
Participants in the service will
be:
,Dr. Maurice N. Eisendrath,
president of the Union of Am-
erican Hebrew Congregations;
Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, rabbi
emeritus of Temple Emanu-El in
New York City and a past presi-
dent of the Central Conference
of American Rabbis; Rabbi Leon
I. Feuer of the Collingwood Ave-
nue Temple in Toledo; Dr.
Herbert B. Hudnut, minister of
the Woodward Avenue Presby-
terian.Church and past president
of the Detroit Council of Church-
es; Ray R. Eppert, industrialist
and civic leader; and Nate S.
Shapero, president of Temple
Beth El.
The liturgical music of the
evening, composed especially for
the occasion by Jason H. Tickton,
music director of the Temple,
will be 'rendered by a double
quartet.
A reception for Dr. and Mrs.
Glazer will be held in the Frank-
lin Memorial Hall following the
service.

zer served as the first regional
rabbi for the Union of American
Hebrew Congregations and was
responsible for the organization
of religious schools, brother-
hoods, sisterhoods and congrega-
tions in the small communities
of Pennsylvania.
From 1927 to 1934, he served
at Temple Rodef Shalom in Pitts-
burgh as assistant to Rabbi Sam-
uel II. Goldenson.
As chairman of the committee
on social action of the Pittsburgh
Council for Peace and Social
Action. he acted as arbitrator in
many industrial disputes, notably
the hotel workers' strike in 1934.
From 1934 to 1941, Dr. Glazer
was associated with Dr. Golden-
son in the ministry of Temples
Emanu-El of New York City,
serving as senior associate rabbi.
In 1941, Rabbi Glazer succeed-
ed Dr. Leo M. Franklin as rabbi
of Temple Beth El.

Temple Beth El to Mark
Dr. Glazer's 10th Year

The 19 lodges, comprising the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Coun-
cil, will provide 200 cars and drivers for the Women's Division
of the Allied Jewish Campaign for their one day general solici-
tation, Sunday, April 29. Drivers will meet at the State Fair
Grounds at 10 a.m. Sunday April 29. They will enter at the
Woodward avenue entrance, and will be directed to the parking
area and will then report in the Agricultural Building. Shown

Council on Education, has had
nation-wide attention among pro-
fessional groups.
He is consultant to numerous
national organizations and foun-
dations and the author of several
books on human relations.
