With spring just around the corner I am sure all the housewive.
are constantly on the alert for new and interesting recipes. Mrs. A
Cannon of Fullerton avenue recently sent us her Potato Knishes
recipe which is very simple to make.
POTATO KNISHES
2 cups of flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2 tablespoons spry, 1/4 tsp.
baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 /2 cup warm water, 1 tablespoon sugar,
1 egg.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, sugar, add egg
well beaten, spry and warm water. Mix and let stand for 11/2
hours.
Then cook 4 potatoes and mash fine; broil IA pound of liver and
grind with the potatoes and an onion that has been fried in fat. Add
one egg well beaten and blend all together.
Roll out dough, cut into small squares, place portions of potato
and meat mixture in center. Bring edges together and seal firmly.
Place in greased baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees,
reduce heat to 350 degrees until golden brown .

Passover will begin the eve of April 20. We are always interested
