The widely varying moods of
Sholem Aleichem and William
Steig provide the inspiration for
the dance numbers which Jane
Dudley, Sophie Maslow, William
Bales and Co. present Thursday
evening, Feb. 15 at the Art
Institute.
Their concert is sponsored by
the Dance Consultants' Commit-
tee of the Jewish Community
Center.
A Jewish village of half a cen-
tury ago comes to life in Sophie

forthcoming dinner-dance Feb.

Maslow's "Village I Knew," based
on the character sketches of
Sholem Aleichem.
Traditional themes are ar-
ranged in the accompaniment by
Gregory Tucker and Samuel
Matlowsky.
William Steig's telling carica-
tures of the secret skeletons and
covered-up daffiness of ordinary-
looking men and women set the
mood for Jane Dudley's "The
Lonely Ones."
Tickets are on sale at Grin-
nell's, WO. 2-1124, and at the
Jewish Community Center.
