Looking for new desserts? Mrs. Bernard Karasick of Tuxedo
avenue offers her Pecan Gems as a treat with coffee. We found
this recipe very simple to make and delicious tasting.
PECAN GEMS
3/4 cup of butter (6 ounces)
5 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans
2 cups flour
Blend butter and brown sugar thoroughly. Add cold water,
vanilla, almond flavoring. Mix together. Add 1 cup chopped pecans
to ingredients, then add flour. Form cookies into little logs about
11/2 inches long and inches in diameter.

Bake in 275-degree oven for about 40 minutes. When cookies
