Former Envoy Life Sentence
Given use Koch
to Aid Israeli
Bond Issue

NEW YORK—(Special)—James G. McDonald, former
U. S. ambassador to Israel, has accepted the chairmanship of
the advisory council for the $500,000,000 bond issue to be float-
ed in the United States by the Israeli government, it was an-
nounced by the American Financial and Development Cor-
poration for Israel. <.>

AUSBURG, Germany — (Spe-
cial)—Found guilty of inciting
the Murder of at least one in-
mate of the Nazi concentration
camp at Buchenwald, Ilse Koch
was sentenced to life imprison-
ment at hard labor by a German
court, while she was in a padded
cell in a hysterical state by
simulated insanity.
It was the maximum penalty
since capital punishment has
been abolished in western Ger-
many.
The court affirmed that use
Koch had lampshades made of
human skin and also caused
other crimes against humanity.
It is expected that the defense
will appeal the verdict to the
West German Supreme Court.
