Bloch, will act as hosts to a blood bank rally to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, by the entire membership of the Great- er Detroit Bnai Brith Men's and Women's Council, at Parkside Fenkell and Parkside Ave- nues. Twenty-fice per cent of all blood donated will go to the United States Armed Forces in Korea. The Bank will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight, and all mem- bers, as well as others who de- sire to make a contribution, will be welcome. All contributors are examined as to physical fitness before be- ing permitted to give blood, so that no one need stay away be- cause of any doubts on this ground. Anniversary The Jewish Folk Chorus will honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Jewish poet Peretz with a concert Sunday evening, Jan. 21, at Music Hall. Featured will be Peretz' poem Tzvei Brider, which was set to music by Jacob Schaefer. Henri Goldberg is the director. Lillian Shapero, choreographer from New York, who was with Martha Graham's concert group, will dance the part of the snake in the oratorio. Henrietta Chase, soprano of Chicago, will be the guest artist. She is a member of the Chicago Opera Co. The program will also include several groups of Yiddish, Ile- brew and English folk songs. Other soloists will be Ellis Freedenson and Ruth Goldman. Aliza Stulman is the accom- panist.
