Maddin was elected president of the Fresh Air So- ciety at its annual election this week. Lewis B. Daniels was named vice-president, Mrs. Jos- eph G. Fenton, secretary, and Nathan Silverman, treasurer. Maddin succeeds Barney Smith, who had served for three terms. As his first official act, Maddin appointed Smith as chairman of the board oand Emanuel J. Har- ris, outgoing vice-president, as chairman of the finance commit- tee.
