Hashofar Sets
Dual Concert

By MARCIA KLEINMAN

Israel Baker, violinist, and
Yaltah Menuhin, pianist, will be
heard in a concert Tuesday eve-
ning, at the Davison Center,
Herman Jacobs, chairman of the
Hashofar Society for the Ad-
vancement of Jewish Music, an-
nounces.
Baker and Miss Menuhin have
recently teamed up for joint re-
citals and have been hailed by
the music critics as the finest
young artists on the stage today.
The program will include the
entire Suite from Baal Shem by
Ernest Bloch, also Visions and
Prophecies and Poems of the Sea
for piano by Bloch.
Sonata in A Minor by Julius
Chides and Sonata in E Minor
by Erich Zeisl will round up the
program. The latter work will be
performed for the first time in
Detroit.
Tickets are $1.50 for non-
members and $1 for members,
available at the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
