Their combined contributions constitute one-third of the almost $30,000 received to date. This includes the proceeds from "Borschtcapades" and the annual banquet which was held recently at the Bel-Aire. At the same time an announcement came through from the Medical Center at Duarte, Cal., that a new maxitron—X-ray therapy machine—for use in the cancer program at the City of Hope, is now being constructed by the General Electric Corp. The City of Hope is also accepting an Israeli doctor as a research fellow in thoracic surgery.
