Detroit Section of the National
Council of Jewish Women have
been planning and working for
many months towards making
our one annual fund-raising ac-
tivity a success," states Mrs.

A movie preview prize party
has been scheduled for 1 p.m.,
Dec. 4 at the Royal Theater. Be-
sides the showing of a movie,
there will be an array of gifts
d o n a t e d by city merchants.
Jackie Kannon, local comedian,
; s master of ceremonies, will dis-
tribute them.
This year, as in previous years,
t.cnission is a bundle for the
Council Resale Shop.

ties are concentrated into one
annual drive, making possible

quota of $10,500 to meet its over-
seas obligati ins, which include a
grant to the schools of education
of the Hebrew University in Is-
rael; a home in Paris for un-
attached Jewish women, Ameri-
can scholarships for foreign stu-
dents and a "ship a box" pro-
gram.
The Council Resale Shop, un-
der the chairmanship of Mrs.
Stanley Akers, supports the
Council's community activities
such as the Twelfth Street Coun-
cil Center, service to foreign-
born and work in the field of
education.

The 49th Annual Interdenomi-
national Community Thanksgiv-
ing Service will be held in the
auditorium of the Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts at 10:30 a.m., Thurs-
day, Nov. 23.
Rabbi Morton M. Berman,
spirtual leader of Temple Isaiah
Israel in Chicago and one of the
outstanding liberal rabbis in the
country, will be the guest prea-

Congregation Beth Aaron will
induct 100 new members at 10
a.m., Sunday. The induction will
take place at a breakfast which
is being/ prepared for this pur-
pose.
The affiliation of the 100 new
members with the Congregation
is the first step in its program of
expansion which Beth Aaron has
taken immediately after it be-
came a conservative congregation
two months ago upon becoming
affiliated with the United Syna-
gogues of America.
Dr. Max J. Routtenberg, the
executive vice-president of the
Rabbinical Assembly of America,
is coming from New York to
speak.
Dr. Routtenberg is a recognized
spokesman for Conservative Jud-
aism in America.
Participating in the program
will be Rabbi Benjamin H. Gor-
relick, the spiritual leader of the
Congregation, Dr. Marvin A.
Last, president, and harry Green
and Albert M. Fenkell, chair-
man and co-chairman of the
special campaign committee.

hood announces that Charles
Feinberg, prominent art collector
and connoisseur of Jewish art
and Sabbath ceremonials, will be
guest speaker at the first Oneg
Shabbat of the season at the
home of Mrs. Jacob E. Segal,
overall chairman, at 19175 Wood-
ingham on Saturday, at 2 p.m.
Feinberg, who has had an ex-
hibit in Toronto and has also
lcaned his Sabbath art collection
to the Theological Seminary of
