whole framework has to be
worked out yet."
Speaking about the chair, he
said that it had been set up by
Temple Beth El in honor of the
late Rabbi Franklin and that its
exact area was as yet undecided.
"I intend to consult with the

Life and hope for hundreds of thousands of
our fellow-Jews can be provided only on a
C.O.D. basis.
Only cash can avert despair.
Only cash can transport them to Israel and to
other lands.
Only cash can provide homes and build a new
life for the immigrants among their own
people in Israel.
Only cash can save many thousands from
homelessness and persecution in Europe and
North Africa.
If you made a pledge, remember it cannot go
to work in saving lives until you have paid
the cash.
To us here C.O.D. means Cash On Delivery.
For our fellow-Jews in Israel and elsewhere
C.O.D. means Cash Or Despair.

On Sunday, October 8th, National "C" Day,
stay at home to give cash. Give all you can
to see the job through.

Why Cash Is Needed Now

1 At least 50,000 Jews must be moved

out of Iraq in the coming months.

2 70,000 Jews must be transferred from

Roumania to Israel

3 There are still 80,000 Jews living in

tent-cities who must be given homes
and jobs in Israel.

4 Cash in time will convert these dead-

lines into lifelines for our fellow-Jews
overseas. Cash in time will help us
fulfill our obligations here at home.
