Mrs. Sam Klee of Buena Vista avenue, known for her elegant
delicacies, offers the Jewish Chronicle readers the following:
SOUR CREAM HORNS
Combine: 1 cup Crisco or Spry, 2 egg yolks, 1 cup sour cream,
31/2 cups flour, 1 tsp. salt.
Prepare: 1 cup jam, mixed with 1/2 cup bread crumbs and 1
cup crushed nuts.
Have ready: 1 egg white, slightly beaten and 'Ai cup crushed nuts.
Method: Roll small portions of dough, cut in squares, fill each
square with jam mixture and roll into horn shape. Dip top of each
horn first in slightly beaten egg white mixture and then in crushed
nuts. Place on cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven (350 de-
grees), 20-30 minutes. Makes approximately 50 horns.

Registration by Proxy

Wayne University officials
have notified the Jewish Com-
munity Council that those stud-
ents who observe the Rosh
Hashana holiday on Sept. 12 and
13, will be able to register for
courses at the University by
proxy or on other days during
the registration week.
The University will carry
courses in modern Hebrew for
the 1950-51 session. Louis Panush
will again be the instructor in
Hebrew. For further information

Final plans have been laid for
the delegates conference of all
Detroit organizations which has
been called by Nathan P. Ep-
stein, president of the Detroit
auxiliary of the City of Hope
(formerly Los Angeles Sana-
torium) to formulate plans for
the 1950-51 campaign for that
institution.
The conference will be held
at the Workmen's Circle at 11
a.m., Sunday, Sept. 17.
