Mrs. Diane Steinberg, a Chronicle reader of many years, sent
us a very easy to make casserole dish for the cooler weather.
While preparing your roast, use this recipe and your complete meal
will be oven prepared.
LIMA BEAN CASSEROLE
1 large can of Lima Beans
1/2 cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 small onion grated
1/2 cup brown sugar.
Strain lima beans, add all the above ingredients. Mix well.
Add salt and pepper to taste. If necessary add more brown sugar.
Bake in well greased casserole dish for hour at 375 degrees.

place June 1 at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest J, Stecker.
Joseph Kepes was elected presi-
dent; Henry Kepes, vice-presi-
dent; Inez Kepes, treasurer; and
Jan Kepes, secretary. A tele-
vision set will be donated by the
group to the Jewish War Veter-
ans Memorial Bldg., in honor of
Samuel and Bertha Kepes.

Eli Levin Auxiliary
Entertains at Hospital

The Lt. Eli Levin Auxiliary,
JWV, held a meeting Aug. 1, at
the Memorial Home and then
held a shower in honor of Irene
Blackman.

The auxiliary also visited at
the Dearborn Hospital on Aug.
3. Club 509 on Woodward enter-
tained with a show which lasted
over an hour. Ice-cream, cookies,
and cigarettes were served. Also
door prizes were given.
The next meeting will be held
at the Memorial Home on Sept.
5.

to Ship Food to Israel

Mrs. Louis Ellenbogen, the or-
ganization's president, has re-
ceived word from a company in
New York that its order for two
new special hospital beds has
been shipped to the Convalescent
Hospital in Bnai Brak, Israel.
The food and clothing project
of the Sisterhood is financed
through the charity fund of Beth
Abraham.
The first meeting of the new
season of the Sisterhood will be
held Sept. 5.

Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Fishman
and daughter, Gerry, of Sher-
bourne road have returned home
after a month's visit to Atlantic
City and Lake Champlain.

Membership Drive

A one-day membership cam-
paign, unique in Detroit, is plan-

Hadassah. The opening pre-"H"
day event is a dessert luncheon
