Menuhin to Make Film Based on Novel by Levin

EYER LEVIN, AUTHOR of In Search" sailed the
other day for Paris on what may prove to be his
most interesting project . . . While you sun yourselves
on the beaches, Meyer will sweat in a
hot apartment on Boulevard St. Ger-
main, writing the script for a movie
based on his own novel "Yehuda."
Yehuda, if you remember, is a violin
virtuoso who quit the concert stage
to become a member of a Kibbutz in
Israel.
Yehudi Menuhin, the world's great-
est violinist, whom certain chauvinistic
elements recently maligned, will play
the stellar role in Levin's movie.
If you consider that Menuhin can

command fantastic fees in Hollywood.
you will agree that his participation in Leviri's film,
which will be shot in Israel of course, and produced
by, an independent company, is another telling rebuff
to those who charged the great artist with 'lack of in-
terest in Jewish affairs.

WE READ THAT A self-respecting Jew in Chicago
canceled his subscription to the Chicago Daily Tribune
and told the publisher that he does not care to support
an anti-Semitic paper.
The managing editor of the newspaper, that charged
American Jews with heading a conspiracy and secretly
directing the destiny of our country, replied that "the
spokesmen of America's four Jewish defense agencies
have accepted the view that the Tribune's intention in
printing the article, was not evil."
Well that's one definite result the Jewish defense
organizations achieved: they provided the Tribune with
a good alibi.
MAKE NO MISTAKE about it, Merwin K. Hart, mas-
termind of the anti-Semitic campain in the United States
and Canada is very smart. Here is why we think so:

report on anti-Semitism it devotes plenty of space to

somewhere however if Hart can get away with his
smears and insults behind a phony facade.
