Strike to Gain on Vacation in
42-Hour Week Switzerland

TEL AVIV—(Special)—Ilospit-
al nurses in Israel went on a 24-
hour strike July 6 to back up
their demand for a 42-hour week
during the summer months.
Affected by the strike were all
government hospitals, the Mu-
nicipal Hospital in Tel Aviv and
the Hadassah Hospital in Jerus-
alem.
Skeleton staffs and student
nurses kept the hospitals running.
Operating room personnel re-
mained on duty.
The nurses' demand has been
met by trade union hospitals and
private institutions.
