American ( 7ewisk BBYOutlook Campus and High Jinks By JOAN IIENCKEN itlxiE ARE HERE at our con- " vention, we are having lots ' of fun," sang the AZA's and BBG's of the Michigan Region at the District 6, BBG and AZA joint convention which was held June 23-26 at Camps Zavaho and Achim, near Watervliet, Mich. Michigan Region turned out at its best as over 60 AZA's and BBG's attend the convention from Detroit and neighboring Michigan cities. The bus which was chartered to take the fellas and girls to the convention left BBYO headquar- ters at 10 a.m., Friday. The ride up was filled with songs and laughter which echoed down the highways. Friday night services were held by the fellas and girls at their respective camps. The girls of our region did a terrific job making up the Sabbath choir, and Geraldine Solomen of the FDR chapter of Detroit delivered a fine sermon. Eddie Stewart, president of the Detroit-Windsor Council of AZA delivered the sermon at the boys' camp. • • • IN OBSERVANCE of the Sab- bath the schedule on Saturday morning consisted of seminars and informal committee meetings. Saturday evening found the girls on a ferry boat headed across Lake Paw Paw to the fellas camp for a dance. It was really old home week as we were greeted by our old friend, Harry Mirvis. Harry led us in singing many of our favor- ite songs. The evening ended with all the regions joining in the Virginia Reel and the flora. On Sunday we attended com- mittee meetings and workshops which lasted throughout the day. Sunday night was the fellas' turn to cross the lake to the girls' camp where Stunt Nite was held. Our region's skit was written by Larry Wellman and Molsh Last of the Symoure Sobole Chapter of AZA. Although they could not be with us, we really did ourselves proud in present- ing the skit with all the enthusi- asm our region is noted for. After the skits were given, we went down to the waterfront for a wienie roast and song test. By HELEN TENNENBAUM Chronicle edinary corner By EDITH GOODMAN At a recent dinner party, individual noodle rings were served. At first glance one thought they were pecan rolls. I asked my hostess, Mrs. Julius Meskin, to give me the recipe to share it with our Chronicle friends. I am sure you will enjoy it. Served with breaded veal cutlets, peas with mushroom sauce, a vegetable toss salad, you have a delicious and colorful plate. INDIVIDUAL NOODLE RING 1 10-ounce bag broad noodles 2 eggs, well beaten cup sugar 4 tablespoons incited chicken fat or, if serving with milk dinner, use 6 tablespoons of butter 1 teaspoon of cinnamon I,* teaspoon of salt Brown sugar and walnuts Boil noodles, drain well. Continue draining by tossing in colander with fork. Let noodles dry for about 20 minutes. Add eggs well beaten. Make sure that the eggs are mixed well with the noodles. Add 1 ,-2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons melted fat, cinnamon and salt. Mix well. Pour remaining melted fat in individual molds. Sprinkle brown sugar in bottom of pan and pat down. Place walnuts around mold on top of brown sugar. Pour mixture on top. Bake in 325' oven for one hour. Will serve eight. • • We are sure many delightful recipes are in your recipe box.
