But it must be done in the framework of justice, with due process of law, with a firm belief in the basic democratic principle that a man is innocent until he is proved guilty—not on the basis of rumor or hearsay, but only on the basis of facts and proper circumstances. • • • The Reader Writes victims of Nazi concentration camps, on the homeless, on the Then, there is the second voice. persecuted, for in their eyes, all It is an insidious voice .It speaks DP's, except former Nazis, are out wherever there is injustice, large or small. Is this what we have fought to create through the 175 years of arduous struggle to as- sure those freedoms we enjoyed and which are so threatened to- day? No, I think that would be disloyalty to America. I think that would be treason. I think that would be betrayal of every- thing this nation means to us, to people throughout the world. Is it not time that we reaffirm, as we did in 1932, that this nation has nothing to fear but fear it- self? Is it not time that we brushed aside the sowers of de- spair and the breeders of con- fusion? Is it not time that we drown out these voices with the third voice the • voice of the democratic majority of' the Amer- ican people? Those truly dedicated to the principles of freedom, those who are aware of the danger which democracy in America faces, must arouse all Americans to an under- standing of the urgency of the situation. The answer to assaults upon democracy is more democracy. The beet weapon against both Communism and reaction at home is democracy. The best all-out weapon against Communism and Fascism abroad is more and more democracy. — SPECIAL. BUICK TOURBACK 4-Door Sedan Best Trade-In Deal in Town!
