Parley Slated
by War Vets

The Department of Michigan,
Jewish War Veterans and Aux-
iliary have completed their pro-
gram for their two-day annual
convention June 3-4 at the Me-
morial Home, it was announced
by Bernard Hoffman, general -
chairman, and Rose Cowan, chair-
man for the auxiliary.
The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, June 3: 9 a.m.-re-
ligious services dedicated to the
Department of Michigan will be
part of Rabbi Morris Adler's ser-
mon at the Shaarey Zedek. He is
department chaplain of the JWV.
Gold star fathers, mothers, wives,
and veterans wearing their JWV
caps will be seated in a special
section of the synagogue.
2 p.m-a symposium will be
held in the social hall of the Me-
morial Home. Topics of discussion
will be housing, veterans service,
rehabilitation, and other veteran
affairs.
8 p.m.-reports of all commit-
tees will be given.
10 p.m.-open house for all
JWV members will be held in the
social hall. Refreshments will be
served following the entertain-
ment and dancing.
Sunday, June 4: 9 a.m.-regis-
tration, final reports of rules com-
mittee, credentials and resolu-
tions.
1 p.m.-department command-
er's report.
1:30 p.m.-election of officers.
The annual convention will be

City of Hope Unit
to Hold Meeting

The Detroit Business Mens
Group of the City of Hope (for-
merly known as Los Angeles San-
atorium) will resume the sea-
son's meeting Thursday, June 1
at the Furniture Club in the De-
troiter Hotel.
The session will begin with
cocktails at 6:30 p.m., which will
be followed by dinner and a busi-
ness meeting afterward.
Ben Goldberg, secretary of the
group, and chairman of the 1950
fund-raising campaign, will give
a report of his recent visit to the
City of Hope at Duarte, Cal. Na-
