The planning committee has announced that a high-
light of last year's celebration will be repeated again
this Sunday, when toe chorus of the Detroit Cantors'
Association, under the direction of Dan Frohman, will
sing several selections—"Hallelujah" by Lewandow-
ski; "Acheinu Beis Yisroel" by Zavel Zilberts; "Song

of the Emek" arranged by Frohman, with Cantor Jacob
Sonenklar as soloist; and "Red Dovidl," a Yiddish
folksong, arranged by Zavel Zilberts.
Last year, 15,000 people jammed the Coliseum to
participate in the colorful rites, and accommodations
for a like crowd are being made this year, according
to Dr. Shmarya Kleinman and Sidney M. Shevitz, co-
chairman of the planning committee.
Gov. G. Mennen Williams will address the throng,
and Mayor Albert E. Cobo is likewise scheduled to
speak.
A commemorative prayer will be offered by Rabbi
Isaac Stollman of the Council of Orthodox Rabbis.
The Department of Michigan of the Jewish War
Veterans will open the meeting by the posting of
colors, under the command of Philip Cantor, state com-
mander.
A group of Detroiters, veterans of both the U. S.
service and of the fighting in Israel and founders of the
American-Israel Veterans' Association, will receive a
banner that is to be presented to them on behalf of
the Jewish community of Detroit.
Children from the city's Jewish schools will present
a program, and mass Israeli folk dances will be per-
formed by youth from the Young Zionist groups in
the city.
Group singing will be led by Moe Kesner, musical
director of the United Hebrew Schools, and Miss
Florence Weintraub, mezzo-soprano, will lead the
singing of the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "Ilatikvah."
The Central High School Band, under the direction of
Ben Silverstein, will play.

Rabbi Jacob Segal of Northwest Hebrew Congrega-

tion will deliver the
commemorative ad-
dress.
Present as plat-
form guests will be

munal organiza-

itz, president of the
Zionist Council of
Detroit, will pre-

Council will be de-
