Israel Jacobson Talks to Open
Juniors', Women's AJ Drive

26 and 27 at meetings to open
the juniors' and women's phases
of the 1950 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign.
Jacobson will address two meet-
ings of the junior division March
26, campaign workers at an ad-
vanced gifts luncheon and special
gifts prospects at a dinner at the
Lee Plaza.
Leonard Baruch is chairman of
the advanced gifts committee, and
Robert Benson heads the special
gifts division.
He will address members of the
women's division March 27 at an

afternoon meeting in Brown Me-
morial Chapel. His topic both
days will be "Operation Rescue
Behind the Iron Curtain." Mrs.
John C. Hopp is chairman of the
women's division.
Jacobson became a world figure
last December when he was ar-
rested as a spy when he crossed
the border into Hungary on re-
turning from a meeting with his
family in Vienna. He was final-
ly expelled from Hungary.
Jacobson had been director of
the Joint Distribution Committee
in Hungary at the time of his
arrest and had previously nego-
tiated for the emigration of 3,000
Hungarian Jews to Israel.
Jacobson also directed the first
post-war emigrations to Palestine
from Greece and Yugoslavia.

This meeting will hear the
four young men from the Con-
gregation who recently repre-
sented the Men's Club as dele-
gates to the Leaders Training
Fellowship convention at Chica-
go.
They will give a complete re-
port of their experiences. The
young men are Daniel J. Elazar,
Robert D. Shapiro, Earl S. Man-
del and Sheldon H. Beck.
Movies will be shown at this
meeting, and Rabbi Jacob E. Se-
gal will participate in the pro-
gram.
