This disclosure was made here by Louis Segal, general secretary of the Alliance, at a gathering attended by leading figt res. Prof. Selig Brodetsky, presi- dent of the Hebrew University, told the gathering that there is still a good deal of opposition to Yiddish at the Univehity. At the same time he criticized a professor of the Hebrew Uni- versity for having said that Yid- dish was "a dead tongue."
