Romania's
Envoy Quits
Israeli Post

TEL AVIV— (Special) — The
Romanian ambassador to Israel
left the country suddenly with-
out notifying the government of
Israel, it was announced here.

The Israeli foreign office said
it had no indication whether the
ambassador would return.

- Observers believe he might
have been recalled as a result of
Ben Gurion's statement that "the
daughter of a rabbi, Ana Pauker
(the Romanian foreign minister),
is preventing her brethren from
returning to the Promised Land."

Romania had recently halted
emigration to Israel.

The Harry B. Keidan Chapter of Bnai Brith will be the guest of
its lodge brothers at a joint meeting Feb. 7 at the Book-Cadillac.

Beth Yehudah Schools, Wednes-

audience since he was elected
