THE LATEST STORY circulat-
-1- ing in Israel is about Treasury
Minister Kaplan and the Minister
of Supplies Joseph.
While riding in an airplane
over Tel Aviv, Kaplan remarked
to Joseph that if he could drop
500 tons of 10-pound notes over
the city all the taxpayers would
adore and kiss him. To which
Joseph replied that if he could
drop several tons of meat over
the city, tens of thousands of
women would shower him with
kisses.
The Israeli pilot took the con-
versation in silently and then ob-
served, "If I could drop both of
you gentlement over the city, all
the men and women in Israel
would run to kiss me."

"DOCTOR, I need help," com-
plained the patient, "I talk to
myself."
"Do you suffer pain?" asked the
doctor.
"No, no pain."
"Well," said the doctor, "then
go home, don't worry. Millions of
people tolk to themselves . . ."
"But, doctor," cried the pa-
tient, "you don't know what a
'Nudnik' I am."

THE SCHNORRER made his
usual request for alms, firmly yet
modestly.
"But I haven't a cent in the
house right now. Come back to-
morrow," said the housewife.
"Ah, my friend," said the Sch-
norrer, "if you only knew what a
fortune I have lost by giving
credit."
