This group of aspiring actors from
the ranks of AZA, BBG, BBYM
and BBYW has been casting for
parts in this hilarious comedy.
The group is under the direc-
tion of Mrs. Leban who was prom-
inent in Pisgah Chapter's dra-
matic activities.

IF THERE HAS EVER BEEN
any feeling among the adult Bnai
Brith and its offshoot, BBYO, that
the relations between the two or-
ganizations have not been close
enough, the BBYO Stock Com-
pany, which is going to present
their work before Bnai Brith
lodges and chapters, should bring
about better mutual understand-
ing.

THE FDR Chapter of BBG held
a "Nile Club Affair" recently at
• the D. W. Simons Bldg.
All officers of AZA were in-
vited and among those present
were Sid Rubenstein, president
of the AZA Michigan Regional
Council, and Eddie Stewart who
is president of the AZA Detroit-
Windsor Council.
The high-spot of the excellent
program was a surprise (and we
do mean surprise) birthday party
given for Eddie.
Music for the affair was fur-
nished by Harvey Hortick and or-
chestra.

LZO Begins
Shekel Drive

The Labor Zionist movement
in Detroit has opened its 1949-50
Shkolim drive at a special con-
ference which issued a call to
Detroit Jews to buy the Shekel
to demonstrate their support of
Zionism, and to buy the Labor
Zionist Shekel to support the
Labor Zionist cause in the Jew-
ish Agency.
During the next few weeks
canvassers will go out and ap-
proach Detroit Jews to buy
Shkolim.
The committee responsible for
the campaign consists of L.. Hoff-
mitz, chairman, and A. Gornbein,
H. Mondry, Mrs. C. Michlin, Mel-
vin Annis, A. Bornstein and Alex
Schreier.
The executive board consists of
B. Hearshen, S. Richardson, B.
Kumove, A. Kaminker, D. Sislin,
C. Berman, S. Goldof tas, D.
Ifirshhorn and N. Turner.

The Center Social Liles will
hold an open social at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, at the Center. There is
no admission charge.

Tells of Festival

MRS. PHILLIP EDELHEIT,
president of the George Gersh-
win Chapter of Bnai Brith, an-
nounces that the group will
hold a "Chanukah Membership
Family Night" at 8:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the
Jewish Fraternal Hall. Mrs.
Lewis Manning will he guest
speaker and a variety show will
be presented.

Beth El Groups
Set Winter Dance

A winter dance, sponsored
jointly by the Sisterhood and
Men's Club of Temple Beth-El,
will be held at 9 p.m., Saturday.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman of Con-
gregation Bnai Moshe will ad-
dress the Men's Club at 10 a.m.,
Sunday.
The annual Chanukah family
supper will be held at 6 p.m.,
Sunday, Dec. 18. The choir of the
religious school will sing Chanu-
kah music, and a historical sound
movie will be shown.

NEVADA ZIONISTS UNITE
LAS VEGAS— (WNS) —The
first .Zionist Organization in the
oltate of Nevada was formed with
Nathan Mack, former president
of the Jewish community Cen-
ter of Las Vegas, new local head.

In order to convey the signifi-
cance of Chanukah to parents,
Bnai Moshe Religious School will
hold a round table discussion on
"Chanukah—How it Affects Us
Today" at 11:30 p.m., Sunday,
Dec. 18.
Mitchell Feldman will act as
moderator.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman will
speak on "The Significance of
Chanukah;" Mrs. Abramson will
discuss "Books for Your Child:"
Bella Goldberg, "Song and Mel-
ody," and Mrs. Walter Farber,
"Decorations for the Home."

Given Maimon' ides Auxihary

At the monthly meeting of the
Women's Auxiliary of the Mai-
monides Medical Society, Mrs.
Charles Gitlin, general fund-
raising chairman, read a letter
recently received from Tabora
Rousso, Israeli War Veteran who
lost her arm in the Arab war.
Miss Rousso will be fitted with
an artificial limb from the funds
supplied by the auxiliary.
The 25-year-old Israeli-born
veteran wrote:
"I wish to thank you for the
great help which you gave to me
and are giving me. It is a great
contribution to my medical treat-
ment.
"In a few weeks I will start
my training for the use of my
arm which will take several
months to finish. I am sure, it
will be all right for me to tall
you that I lost my arm while
fighting to get our State of Israel.
"Believe me, I am very proud
of every little thing that I was
able to do and I am sure that
when I get my arm, I shall be-
come a normal person and will

will sponsor a Chanukah Bingo
and card party at 8 p.m. Monday
in the Labor Zionist Institute,
