Mrs. Regene Freund Cohane
has invited Detroit Alumnae of
Sigma Delta Tau for a dessert
meeting at 8 p. m., Tuesday in
her home in Highland Park.
Plans are to be completed for the
winter season fund raising proj-
ect. A date will be selected and
volunteers chosen for work at the
Cancer Clinic in conjunction with
the program of the -Detroit Pan-
hellenic Association.
A meeting of the Detroit
Women's Service Club was held
at the Workmen's Circle. Plans
were drawn up for a dinner-
dance.
The Beth Abraham Sisterhood
elected the following officers:
Mrs. Betty Ellenbogen, president
and Mesdames Celia Goldsmith,
Dora Sehpiece. J. Lenhard and
J. Fishman. They will he in-
stalled on Dec. 27. The sister-
hood will meet Tuesday.
Outstanding Books
on Exhibit at S.Z.
"Outstanding Books of 1949" is
the theme of an exhibit arranged
by Shaarey Zedek library. which
will continue through Dec.
Among the book displayed is
"The Code of Maimonides," a re-
cent discovery by Dr. A. M.
Hershman, published in October
by the Yale University Press.
Library hours are Monday
through Thursday from 10.12 a.
In., 2-5:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m..
from 10 a.m. on Friday and from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Bnai Moshe Plans
Education Panel
A symposium on Jewish educa-
tion will be held by the Bnai
Moshe Adult School of Jewish
Studies at 9 p. 111., Tuesday, Dec.
6.
The Shaarey Zedek Adult In-
stitute opened its sessions with
several classes filled to capacity
and plans under way to open
additional classes to accommo-
date the large number of stu-
dents.
Registrations are still being ac-
cepted. The institute is open to
the entire community.
Classes in Hebrew and Yid-
dish are offered.
