CHICAGO—A concerted at- tack upon the "quota system" and college admissions procedures which discriminate against ap- plicants on grounds of race, re- ligion and national origin was urged here at a conference of educators meeting under the aus- pices of their top policy body, the American Council on Educa- tion, and the Anti-Defamation League of Bnai Brith. Declaring that "the quota sys- tem cannot be justified m any grounds compatible with demo- cratic principles," the educators, many of them university presi- dents and college deans, declared themselves in favor' of the fol- lowing three-point program: 1—Development of a progr,:m by the colleges themselves that would eliminate such discrimina- tion. 2—Enactment of legislative ac- tion, such as fair educational practices laws, wherever neces- sary. 3—Government financial aid to eliminate economic barriers fac- ing many who seek college and professional school education. !NA,/ b,•,04.4111,1e6 • 01.1.01W Ka',.r.;,4 Slate Williams at Dedication in Muskegon Dr. Max Kapustin, director of the Hillel Foundation, Wayne University, will speak at the Young People's Club of Congre- gation Bnai Moshe at 8:^ii A television set will be given Monday on "Intermarriage."
