The Jewish Women's Welfare
Organization will hold a board
of directors meeting at 12 noon,
Monday at the home of Mrs.
Cronenwald, 2930 Chicago boule-
vard west. Relief applications
will be taken up or discussion
and arrangements will be made
for the annual dinner dance to
be held Dec. 4 at the Bel Aire
Terrace.


An officer's meeting was held
by the Pythias Sisters, OES, at
the home of its children, Mrs. S.
Charness. A card party is being
planned. All members are urged
to attened . the meeting of
Wednesday, Nov. 23 at the Tem-
ple.

Mrs. Morris Kazdan, souvenir-
book chairman of the Maimoni-
des Medieal Society Auxiliary,
will hold the next meeting of ad
workers at the home of Mrs.

veterans at the Percy Jones
Hospital. First rehearsal or the

At the invitation of the culture
commission of the Jewish Com-
munity Council, program - plan-
ners of ridish-speaking organi-
zations a n d landsmanschaften
gathered at the Workmen's Circle
last Sunday to discuss the prob-
lems that confront their organi-
zations.
Sol Schkloven, co-chairman of
the Yiddish culture committee of
the Council, discussed the role of
literature as program material.
Sam Sigal, director of the
Workmen's Circle Education Cen-
ter, emphasized the necessity for
discussion of contemporary prob-
lems.
Wolf Snyder, of the Jewish
Folk Schools discussed the role of
Jewish holiday • it. programming
and how holidays can be observ-
ed in an entertaining and educa-
tional manner.

Bnai David Men's Club
to Hold Feather Party

Arthur Beizels, president of the
Bnai David Men's Club, an-
nounces that the annual feather
party will be held at 8:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Nov. 17, in the social
hall. Many door and feather
prizes will be given away. Pro-
ceeds go towards the benefit of
the Bnai David Boys' Club.

The Parent-Teachers Organiza-
tion of the David W. Simons
School will meet Monday. Albert
Elazar, associate superintendent
of the United Hebrew Schools,
will discuss the need for coordina-
tion of home and school around
holiday activities.
The following committee chair-'
men were appointed:
Mrs. K. Dwain, junior congre-
gation for Sabbath; Mrs. Anna
Pudavick, cultural committee;
Mrs. Rose Dobrusin and Mrs.
Morris Weiner, social committee,
and Mrs. Fran Sonne, publicity
committee.
Mrs. Goldie Mallen was named
secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Bessie
Soloway is president.

Sonenklar Recital

Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek will
be guest speaker at the Men's
Club of Congregation Gemiltith
Chasodim at 9 p.m., Thursday,
Nov. 17 at Bereznitz Hall, 13326
Linwood avenue. His subject will
be: "Origin of Jewish Folk
Songs." His talk will be illus-
trated by Jewish folk mu4e.
The meeting is open to all men
and women of the congregation.
