Israel Rejects
Iraq Oil Plan

TEL AVIV — (WNS) — The
Israeli government rejected an
offer made by the government of
Iraq to pump oil into the Jewish
city of Haifa, because of certain
undesirable conditions attached to
the proposal.
Iraq's conditions were that the
oil should be exempted from any
Israeli taxes, while the refinery at
Haifa should autontoticalty be-
come "internationalized."
Further stipulations asked for a
reciprocal free entry of all goods
pin., through the port of Haifa
into the Arab countries and that
the use of Israel's domestic supply
of oil be curbed.
