to Herschel Levine

Joan Marjorie Ettinger, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Et-
tinger of Kentucky avenue, be-
came the bride of Herschel Har
vey Levine, son of Mr. and Mrs.
David A. Levine of Burlingame
avenue, at an afternoon cere-
mony at Shaarey Zedek, Sept. 18.
Rabbi Morris Adler and Can-
tor Jacob Sonenklar officiated.
The bride wore a gown of
French imported white lace over
satin. Seed pearls followed the
scalloped neckline and were em-
broidered with sequins on the
long sleeves which came to a
point over her hands. The gown
fell into a long full train.
The bride's veil of illusion was
edged with imported lace and
was caught to her head by a
crown of beaded pearls.
She carried a cascade bouquet
of white orchids and stephanotis
on a white prayer book.
Mrs. Louis Gorzeck was matron
of honor. Bridesmaids were
Louise' Edison, Claire Ettinger,
Sally Lou Ettinger and Mrs. Mil-
ton Rotenberg.
Seymour J. Levine served as
his brother's best man. Ushers
were Alan Ettinger, Robert C.
W. Ettinger, Dr. Louis Gorzeck,
Milton Rotenberg, Sam Wigodner
and Fred Ettinger.
Following a Florida honey-
moon, the couple will reside on
Mark Twain avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Manis of
Clements avenue were honored
on their 35th wedding anniver-
sary at a surprise party given by
the Lachowitcher Aid Society
and their children, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Guttentag and , Helen
Manis, at the Mishkan Israel Hall.

gundy ankle-length gown with a
lace bodice, a helmet hat of the
same material as the gown, an
illusion veil and a single strand
of pearls.
She carried a white orchid on
a white Bible.
Marilyn Miller was her sister's
maid of honor and Eugene Sig-
mund of Buffalo was best man.

New York City, the couple are

In a candlelight ceremony in the Mayfair Room, Irene. Apple-
baum, daughter of Mr. and WS. Abraham Applebaum, became the
bride of Sol Alpiner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Alpiner.
Rabbi Joshua Sperka and Cantor Hyman Adler officiated.
The bride chose a gown of ivory satin which was distinguished
by a portrait neckline of seed pearl applique and flowerettes of
silk thread. The tightly fitted bodice fell into gathers at the back,
dropping from the hips into a long full circular train.
Her three-tiered veil of French illusion was caught to her
head by a crown fashioned by seed pearls and ivory satin. She
carried a white Bible adorned with a white orchid and streamers.
Mrs. Della Gottlieb was matron of honor. (dell Applebaum,
