Cantor and Mrs. Hyman Schulsinger will leave shortly for an
extended visit to Israel. The couple will be honored by the
Jewish Ministers Cantors Association of Detroit and friends at a.
banquet on Tuesday at the Wilshire Hotel. Cantor Schulsinger,
chairman of the association's music committee, was with Con-
gregation Emanuel, N. Y., for the last nine years. Ile has served
with Congregation Beth Abraham here, and is an authority on
liturgical music.

The opening banquet of the
chorus will be held Oct. 23 at the
Jewish Cultural Center, Morris
Citrin, president, disclosed.
The chorus, directed - by Henri
Goldberg, rehearses Monday eve-
nings at the Cultural Center, 2705
Joy Road. There are openings for
new members, Goldberg. said.

long been active in communal
and philanthropic woik.

Earlier this year, he toured Eu-
rope and Israel as a member of
the UJA overseas delegation,
which surveyed the needs for as-
sistance on the continent and in
the Jewish state.

Osnos 'will initiate his term as
regional chairman by a series of
visits to Michigan communities
in behalf of the urgent cash col-
lection drive now being conduct-
ed by the UJA.

He will be joined on these vis-
its by Louis Berry and Joseph
Holtzman, both of Detroit. UJA
women's divisions throughout the
state will be visited by Mrs. Hy
C. Broder of Detroit and other
women leaders.

The first major shipment of automotive products to ease Israel's
transport shortage is being swung aboard a lighter. The trucks
and buses are part of those purchased under the terms of an
agreement with the Ford Motor Co. recently announced in Wash-
ington by Israeli Ambassador Eliahu Elatli. The agreement pro-
vides for the shipment of 1,800 vehicles, valued at $4,000,000.
