Ann Schakne, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry T. Schakne of
New York City, was married to
Dr. Cyril Harris, son of Mrs. Ida
M. Harris of Los Angeles, and the
late Dr. Bernard 0. Harris, on
July 12 at the home of the bride's
parents.
Mrs. Harris was graduated
from Hunter college in 1946
where she was elected to Phi
Beta Kappa, and received her
master's degree from Radcliffe
the following year. She is on
the editorial staff of Rhinehart
and Co. Publishers.
Dr. Harris received his bache-
lor's degree in 1938 and his mas-
ter's degree in 1940 from the Uni-
versity of California in Los An-
geles: He was given the doctor
of philosophy degree in physics
in 1945 by the Massachusetts In-
stitute of Technology. He is a
member of the technical staff of
the Bell Telephone Laboratories
in Murray Hill, N. J.

At a Sunday afternoon cere-
mony, June 12, Lorraine Levin be-
came the bride of Irving Segal
at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Meyer Levin of Oak-
man boulevard.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Segal of
Buena Vista avenue.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman and
Rabbi Leo Goldman officiated at
the service.
The bride chose a blush pink
lace, ballerina length gown, hav-
ing an off-the-shoulder scalloped
neckline, and wore matching pink
slippers.
A crown of wild roses, fashioned
into a headress with pink net-
ting, continued the solitary color
scheme. She carried pink roses
and lilies of the valley on a white
Bible.
Maid of honor was Bernice
Fishman and bridesmaid Thelma
Rose. Larry Levin, nephew of
the bride, was ring bearer, and
Judy Weitz flower girl.
Sidney Segal served his brother
as best man and Maury Levin,
brother of the bride, was usher.
For their honeymoon the cou-
ple traveled through Canada,
stopping at Muskoka Beach Inn,
Toronto and Niagara Falls.
