Sixteen luncheon. Guest:, were

Hapoel to Honor
Women's Director
Hapoel liamizrachi will hold a
business-social meeting at 8:30
p.m. Sunday at the home of
Rabbi Max Kapustin. 2494 Pin-
gree avenue.
The women of Hapoel Hamiz-
rachi will present a tea in honor
of Mrs. Miriam Levine, repre-
sentative of the Moetzat Hapoa-
lot, at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday,
May 4, at the home of Mrs. Max
Weisberg, 4364 Glendale avenue.
Mrs. Levine is one of the
founders of Moltzat Ilapoalot
(Women's Council in Israel),
and at present Is directing the
activities of the American or-
ganization.

vice-president and Mrs. Theodore
Bargman, treasurer, at the elec-
tion of officers of the Jewish So-
cial Service Bureau.

Youth Group
Plans Election
Temple Israel Youth will hold
an election of officers at 2:30
p.m. Sunday at the home of Faith
Solomon, 4245 Fullerton avenue.
The nominating committee's slate
includes Merrill Stoller, Bruce
Danto, Helen Robinson, Faith
Soloman and Alvin Talberg.
Nominations will also be taken
from the floor.
The installation of officers will
be held at the second annual
dinner-dance May 7 at the Whit-
tier hotel. Rabbi Samuel Cook,
adviser of the National Federa-
tion of Temple Youth in Cincin-
nati, will be installing officer.
Among other duties Rabbi
Cook has been Hillel director at
the University of Alabama, Rabbi
of Temple Beth Israel in Altoona,
Penna., and chaplain in the
southwest Pacific.

Labor Zionists
to Hail Israel
Member groups of the Labor
Zionist movement will hail the
first anniversary of the birth of
Israel with an independence day
celebrataion at 8:30 p.m. Wednes-
day, May 4, at the Labor Zionist
Institute, Linwood at Pasadena.
Habonim will present a skit,
"Medinat Yisrael," pupils of
the Labor Zionist Folk schools
will recite, and community sing-
ing and guest speakers will round
out the evening.
