march he would never lose his
spirit and trudged along the sand
with smiling face and merry word

you my lad? What is on your
mind?"

Jump Front 1947

NEW YORK—An increase in
the imports of raw materials and
other essential articles into Israel
during the second half of 1948 re-
flects a radical change in the
country's import policy as com-
pared with the stand taken by the
British mandatory regime during
its administration, according to
information submitted by the
Israel Corporation of America.

Biggest jump of imports came
under "food, drinks and tobacco,"
which jumped from 31.1 percent
in 1947 to 38.7 percent of total
imports in the corresponding
period in the second half of 1948.
