Shapero Gets
Civic Backing

Nelson S. Shapero, attorney
and former enforcement execu-
tive of the OPA, has been en-
dorsed by the Citizens League
and by prominent Jewish leaders
for the Common Pleas judgeship
which will be filled at the elec-
tion Monday.
Shapero advocates that jurists
attend court sessions regularly
and be punctual to avoid waste of
time of litigants and attorneys.
He favors occasional night ses-
sions for persons who find it dif-
ficult to be present in the day-
time,
In a statement, Leonard Sim-
ons, advertising executive and
civic leader, said: "I have known
Nelson Shapero for over 30 years
and found him to be a man of in-
tegrity, sincerity and fine char-
acter. I feel confident that De-
troit will be proud of its choice if
it elects him to the bench."
Those endorsing Shapero in-
clude RabbP Leon Fram, Louis
Bielfield, Jerry Bielfield, Maurice
Aronsson, Mrs. Dorah Ehrlich,
Herman Jacobs and others.
