Star Handed
Headaches
With Contract

FORMER NTH' cage star Sid
Tanenbaum is having his
troubles with the New York
Knickerbock-
er pro quintet,
and to hear the
Knicks, the feel-
ing is mutual.
It all began on
r. a winter after-
noon when Sid
held out for
more money
than the club
offered. The
Knicks got off to
Tendler
a start far from sensational, and
before long, the New York fans
were clamoring for "their boy
Sidney."

Gets Highest Contract

THE MEN WITH the money
didn't need a ouija board to
realize that next to A T & T, a
standout Jewish athlete in the
Manhattan locality was the na-
tion's most solid investment, so
they signed Sid to the highest
paying contract ever donated a
Knick player.
The rest of the boys were un-
happy. Initially, many mental
lapses became evident on the
floor. Lapses in that Sidney was
not given the opportunity by the
other four Knickerbockers with
whom he was playing at a given
moment to get his hands on the
basketball as often as he was
entitled.

Rumbles Start Again

EVENTUALLY, HOWEVER,
Tanenbaum's class told, he began
hitting when he got the ball, and
for a time all was serene.
It didn't last long, for soon the

Grounds for Divorce

RECENTLY, TANENBAUM re-
fused to go on a western road
trip with the club saying that he
was suffering from nervous ex-
haustion and that his doctor had
advised a few days rest.
The Knicks told Tanenbaum to
let the Garden medico decide
whether he was fit to play. Sid
agreed. And that's the way
things stand. The two parties
seem hardly compatible, yet if
Tanenbaum is released reper-
cussions at the gate would prob-
ably result.
Anybody wanna buy a ball-
club?
