this was the theme of a
letter written over a century and
a half ago to one of the first Jew-

George Wash-

Please remember this the year
around: Don't let yourselves be
poisoned by prejudice. Forget
about a fellow's or girl's color or
religion or who his or her par-
ents are. Instead, look at peo-
ple. with an open mind. You will
find that there are many .people
who would like to be friends with
you if you only try to be friends
with them.
