cussed by Rose Bloom of Toledo
at a "tally" tea sponsored by the
education committee of the Busi-
ness and Professional division of
Hadassah at 8:15 p.m., Monday,
at the home of Mrs. Ralph Da-
vidson, 1666 Chicago boulevard.
Miss Bloom is a national board
member.
A social hour will follow in
charge of Misses Kate Pitkow-

Youth to Conduct
Temple Services
As the principal feature of its
Youth Sabbath Eve program,
Temple Israel Youth will present
a symposium on "What Judaism
Means to Me" Friday Feb. 25 at
the Institute of Arts.
The speakers will be Isabel
King who will speak on the so-
cial aspects of Judaism, Ruth
Levine who will speak on the
community service aspects, Bruce
Danto on the interfaith aspects
and Marvin Ancell on the per-
sonal aspects.
Members of Temple Israel
Youth will conduct the entire
Sabbath Eve services. Partici-
pants will be Daniel Oppenheim
and Heinz Herz. The service will
be read by Harold Levin, Merrill
Stoller, Helen Robinson, Arnold
Galperin and Martin Citrin. Wil-
liam Singer, president, will intro-
duce the symposium.
At this service, Mrs. S. B. Dan-
to will present Temple Israel
Youth with a Kiddush cup which
is to become an annual gift to
members who distinguish them-
selves in service to the congre-
gation and the community.

Month's Parties, Meetings
An open membership meeting
of the Women's League of Young
Israel will be held at 8 pm.,
Tuesday at the home of Mrs.
Abba A. Levi, 3286 Glendale ave-
nue. Mrs. Alex Zuchman will re-
view "Trial and Error" by Dr.
Chaim Weizmann.
The following committee heads
have been announced by Mrs.
Solomon N. Cohen, vice-presi-
dent: Mesdames Joseph Gross-
man, Isadore Isbee, Hyman R.
Cohen, Herman K. Cohen, Henry
Dworkin, Louis Wieder, Emil
Spilman and Irving W. Schlussel.
Feb. 22 is the last evening for
registration for the Young Israel
Institute of Jewish Studies.
Classes are held at Central High
Tuesday evenings at 8.
A gala "Playnite" has been
planned by the Young Adults of
Young Israel for Saturday, Feb.
26 at the home of Drora Selesny,
3265 Buena Vista. Women 18 to
30 and men 21 to 30, including
couples, are invited. The commit-
tees in charge are headed by Jo-
seph Weinman, Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Goldston and Mrs. Marvin

The Women's League and the
Adults will jointly sponsor the
second annual Purim Carnival of
the organization on Saturday,
March 19 at the' Barium Hotel.
Proceeds will go to the building
fund of the Young Israel Youth
Center construction of which is
advancirtg at Dexter and Fuller-
ton.
Gorman Indorsed
by Jewish Leaders
Frank A. Gorman, who has
been a member of the Detroit
school board for more than 20
years, has received the indorse-
ment of many Jewish communal
leaders. He is a candidate in the
primaries Monday.
Gorman is thoroughly familiar
with all the problems of the
schools and has fought for and
attained many improvements in
the school system.
He has not been aloof from
the public and has always been
available to discuss school issues
with all citizens.

YPC of Temple Beth El for their
Purim masquerade dance Satur-
day, March 12.
Selection of a "Queen Esther"
from among the guests will high-
light the evening.
Decorations will reflect a Per-
sian market scene, Bert . Abrams,
social chairman, disclosed. He
suggested that costumes in keep-
ing with the Purim spirit be
worn, although it is not manda-
tory.
May O'Donnell Dancers
to Appear At Masonic
May O'Donnell, one of the
country's formost young modern
dancers, will bring her group of
seven dancers to the small audi-
torium of the Masonic Temple
for an 8:30 p.m. performance,
Saturday, Feb. 19.
The recital is under the au-
spices of the Jewish Center. Miss
O'Donell spent several seasons
with Martha Graham. Tickets
may be obtained at the Center
and Grinnell's.
