'13nai Brith Highlights,

Greater Men's Council

The Detroit Bnai Brith family
gathered at a "Brunch" Sunday,
to assess the progress of the cur-
rent membership campaign.
Sidney J. Karbel, membership
chairman of the Greater Detroit
Council, presided. The report of
each of the presidents and mem-
bership chairmen indicated sub-
stantial gains by their respective
lodges. Plans to step up the
tempo of the campaign in order
to meet the Detroit quota of 1850
new members were approved.
The most interesting part of
the meeting consisted of the
lodges' acceptance of a challenge
to enter into a friendly, yet com-
petitive contest to determine
' which of them will first reach
their alloted quota by April 1.
Handler and Downtown Lodges
were paired. Dov Frenkel and
Israel, two of the youngest in De-
troit, are in a similar contest. So
are Bloch and Morgenthau,
Cinema and Marshall,' Keidan
and Brandeis, Pisgah and Zager.
The losing lodge will present
the membership chairman of the
winning lodge with a prize.

George E. Drew of the Mount
Hope Episcopal Church, Leonard
Kasle, former naval chaplain, and
Charles R. A. Smith, prominent
Plegro attorney, will be featured.
Members and friends are wel-
come.
