Oscar Cohen to Talk
at Affair on Monday

The annual complimentary
luncheon for all paid-up mem-
bers of the Temple Beth El Sig!
terhood will be at 12:30 p.m.,
Monday, in the social hall of the
Temple.
The program will feature Os-
car Cohen, executive director of
the Jewish Community Council.
He will present a documen-
tary film on community relations
and lead a discussion on neigh-
borhood problems.
According to sisterhood presi-
dent, Mrs. M. George Wayhurn,
no reservations will be neces-
sary for the luncheon, but mem-
bership cards must be presented
for admission.
The financial secretary, Mrs.
Sol M. Lewis, will be at the
door to accept dues and to issue
cards.

Brith Sholom Gets
Joy From Giving

The Brith Sholom of Detroit
is always in front of the line
when it comes to making con-
tributions to worthy causes.
Largest of its recent donations
was $1,200 raised at a banquet
to aid Israel.
The Ladies Auxiliary of frith
Sholom added $100 to this sum
and gave an additional $50
through the Jewish War Vet-
erans for a base hospital in
the Jewish State.
On the local scene, the wom-
en's group turned over 15 car-
tons of cigarettes during the
holidays to patients at the Dear-
born Veterans Hospital.

Bale 'Gagers Face
Windsor Quintet

The basketball team of the
Bale Past, Jewish War Veterans,
will have its hands full when it
meets a strong quintet from
Windsor, Jan. 17 at the Jewish
Center.
Maurice I. Bale said the JWV
aggregation plans to book a
strong team from outstate or
Toledo for a game to benefit
infantile paralysis victims.
Bale said he hopes to have 500
fans packed into the Center
gym for this contest, Jan. 31.

Neuschatz Guest
of Bloch Chapter

Samuel Neuschatz of the Jew-
ish Center will review "My
-Glorious Brothers" by Howard
Fast at an open meeting of the
Ivan S. Bloch. Chapter, Bnai
Brith, at 8:30 p.m., Monday, in
the Labor Zionist Institute, Lin-1

Following his talk, Lenore
Yavitz and Esther Fogel will

ADL Director

Benjamin Epstein, national di-
rector of the Bnai Brith Anti-
Defamation League, will be the
guest Wednesday of the commu-
nity relations committee of the

unique program which Chapter
