as "the greatest of them all."
Lapchick once said that Hol-

Almost Invincible
HE AVERAGED between 120
and 150 games a season through
that period as the Celtics rolled
up an 'astounding record, cap-
turing every settles they played
and winning 90 percent of their
contests.
During those years, Nat was
coaching at City College, turn-
ing out quintets that more than
once earned the eastern title
and always ranked with the
court powers of the nation.
A former president of the
National Association of Basket-
bell Coaches, he has piloted the
east team in the annual east-
west game and in 1946 ,went
to Mexico at the invitation of
the
Nat ional Federation of
Basketball of that country to
give lectures and demonstra-
tions on the game.

STILL IN EXCELLENT shape,
Holman, now 52, is noted for
his ability to get on the floor
during practice sessions and
d. show as well as tell his players
just how it should be done.
CCNY has won 350 games and
last 121 during Holman's ten-
ure. It hopes to give Nat a
present in the form of a victory
over West Virginia, Tuesday at
Madison Square Garden.

When playing for the New

history of the game, Nat was
