Leo Low to Return
After 20 Years

Rabbi Moses Lehrman will be
the principal speaker at a meet-
ing Monday evening of Haifa
Chapter, Zionist Organization of
Detroit, Mrs. Albert Schwartz,
program chairman, announced.
"The Meaning of the Jewish
State" will be his topic.
The meeting will open with a
movie on Palestine entitled
"Look Homeward, Wanderer."
Also on the program will be
a brief summary of current
events by Dr. Albert Schwartz
and group singing under the
leadership of Mrs. Seymour
Kraus.
• A social period, with Mes-
dames Bejamin Weiss and Irv-
ing Sniderman as hostesses, will
conclude the evening.

Plans for the celebration of
the 100th anniversary of the
birth of Dr. Max Nordau have
been set in motion by the Nor-
dau Chapter of the Zionist Or-
ganization of Detroit.
"Since we have taken our
name from this illustrious leader
of the early days of the World
Zionist Congress," Dr. Bernard
Weston, president, said, "it is
only fitting that we should lead
in a public celebration in his
memory."
The following committee co-
chairmen have been named by
the group: Mrs. Max Chamsky,
program; Mrs. Louis R. Berent
and Mrs. Sherman Shapiro, so-
cial; Dr. Louis R. Berent, fund-
raising; Murray Selborn, educa-
tion; and Mrs. Al Feldman, tele-
phone squad.

evy Singing Society for one sea-
son.
Since then, the famed composer
has kept a warm place in his

When he comes here Nov. 28
for a concert of the Halevy
Group, he will be presented the
Max Levy Memorial Award for
his outstanding contributions to
Jewish music.
The honors will be bestowed
at the same time Low is cele-
brating his 70th birthday.
Immediately following the con-
cert, to he held at the Labor
Zionist Institute, refreshments
will be served, after which
there will be community sing-
ing to hail the UN decision on
