Zionist Office Ready to Send
Parcels of Food to lsraelim

To assist Detroit residents de.
siring to send food parcels to
friends and relatives in Israel,
the office of the ZOA here has
added to its activities the Service
for Palestine project of the Keren
Ilayesod of America.
Service for Palestine is the
official non-profit organization
which ships four different types
of Kosher gift food parcels to
individuals in Israel from U. S.
residents.
DEPOTS IN ISRAEL
Thel1. S. post office at present
is not accepting gift parcels for
shipment to Israel.' However,
through arrangements made with
export-import firms, Service for
Palestine has been able to have
depots set up in Israel for dis-
position of the food packages.
The Detroit office of the ZOA
is accepting orders for these four
types of parcels. Shipment will
be much faster through local
handling of the orders due to the
fact that daily lists of orders will
be sent to the Keren Hayesod
from Detroit. The four packages
are:

and Egypt, Syria and Iraq, one
each.
PREJUDICE HINTED
The Israeli government told
the truce commission that in the
future it would not recognize
its decisions on alleged truce
violations if Jewish officials are
not consulted in 'advance.
The Isrelim hinted that the
commission was upholding Arab
truce complaints while ignoring
the Jewish side of the story.
It was reported by David
Horowitz, Israel's economic plan
ning director, that legislation
now being drafted would pro-
vide preferential treatment for
private investors in a move to
encourage a worldwide capital
influx to Israel.
PLAN TAX SLASH
Among measures projected are
tax reductions, subsidies, land
grants and lowered customs
duties.
Horowitz assured potential in-
vestors that private enterprise
would be heartily welcome un-
der Israel's predominantly labor
goVernment.
