Joyous Yom Kippur

The groups of young people who con-
gregate on Synagogue steps during the
lengthy services on Yom Kippur are mere-
ly fulfilling traditions, one as old.. as the
race, and the other stemming from the
days of the Temple.
On Yom Kippur day, according to a
Midrash, it was customary for young maid-
ens to gather in the Temple courts dressed
in pure white garments so that the young

in vestments of white at the Yom Kippur
services, but, you can rest assured, they
are adorned in their finest to display their
charms for the young swains they will meet

he had drawn it, but indicated that the
whole thing could be regarded as more or
less tentative and changed in Paris if it
seemed impractical.
"Thus, whimsically, the fate of Israel
was disposed of by the United Nations
mediator".

the ZOA to affiliate himself with the Labor
Zionists is to be deeply deplored as an
encouragement to disunity and partisanship
in Zionist ranks.
