Synagogues Revived OST .0, NORWAY (World News Services) — Norway is going through' a rebirth of Jewish life. R-ligious life has been re- vived. The Synagogue, the com- munity center and the various old and children's homes are restored. For the first time in the history of Oslo's Jews, a member of • the royal family, Crown Prince Olav, entered the Synagogue on the day of its recnnsecration. Rabbi Goldmann, Oslo's youth- ful minister, comes from a family of Rabbis, headed by Pinellas Korezo. He attended the Yeshiva at Vilna, and later en- tered Vilna University as a stu- dent of law. A man of wide interests, he studied economics and wrote several books (including one about the Jews of Norway and another on the history of Jewish families in Scandinavia). Koritzinsky graduated from the war academy with the rank of officer in 1922. Then he be- came secretary of the Jewish community, a post he occupied until 1941. During that period. he spent two months (April- June, 1940) at the front, fighting the Nazis. As president of the Oslo com- munity before and during the Sw4dish exile, Mendel Bernstein was instrumental in its affilia- tion with the World Jewish Con- gress.
