Greek Jews Find
It Tough Goino.

Of the 1,900 Dodecanese Jews
before the war, most of them
on Rhodes, only 60 remain
alive on this island and a scat-
tered few elsewhere.
On the island of Zante for
some reason none of the 275
Jews were touched by the Ger-
mans. But even of these only
67 are left, the rest having emi-
grated to Palestine.
All in all of the 77,377 Jews
who lived in Greece before the
war only 8,782 are left. In
Athens, formerly an important
Jewish center, only 400 Jews
are left.

($400,000) the 5,000,000 pound
goal, Zvi Schreiber, director of
the loan, announced.

The regular purchase of U. S.
Savings Bonds is the most bene-
ficial layaway plan ever pre-
sented.

Named by Israel

TEL AVIV (ZOA)—The first
Arab police officer in the Israeli
police force was named to the
post of deputy police command-

Increasing numbers of Arab

There are at the present time
25 Arab policemen employed by
