the works of approximately 75
Jewish artists and sculptors,
from this country anti abroad,
was opened for the first time at
the Jewish Museum in conjunc-
t ion with the sessions of the
Congress fur Jewish Culture.
Prior to the opening of the
exhibit, a special session of the
Congress was held at the Jewish
Museum and was devoted to
Jewish art and music. Upon the
recommendation of a commit-
tee on music, the Congress de-
cided to arrange a Jewish Music
Festival in New York in 1949.

Due at Yeshivah

Advanced Rabbinic Research at
Yeshiva University, New York,
was announced by Dr. Samuel
Belkin, president of the Yeshiva.
The Institute, which will open
formally in October, will be
staffed by 15 European Rabbis
recruited from more than 100
eminent scholars from all parts
of Europe.
The purpose of the Institute,
which is being set up with the
cooperation of the United Ser-
vice for New Americans, is to
